Welcome to the website of Dr. Edgardo Yordan. A leader in the field of Gynecologic Oncology, Dr. Yordan has dedicated his medical career to Gynecologic Oncology. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Gynecologic Oncology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Yordan received his MD degree from the University of Maryland Medical School, and did his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. His fellowship was completed in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Southern California and the Memorial Sloane-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
Dr. Yordan is the Chairman of Gynecologic Oncology at Cook County Hospital and an attending physician and Associate Professor at Rush Medical College. He has also served as Director of Gynecologic Oncology at Rush University Medical Center and at Lutheran General Hospital, and as Associate Chairman of the Obstetrics and Gynecology departments at both institutions. In addition, Dr. Yordan is the Co-Director of the prestigious Oak Brook Institute of Endoscopy.
A polymath who speaks fluent Spanish and French, Dr. Yordan is a member of numerous professional societies and has contributed significantly to the medical literature.
Dr. Yordan has received widespread recognition for his contributions to the field of medicine, including being nationally ranked on two occasions by Good Housekeeping Magazine, as one of the “Best 400 Cancer Doctors” and as one of the “Best Doctors for Women.” Chicago magazine also recognized him as one of “Chicago’s Top Doctors.”
He has also won several prestigious awards, including the coveted “Golden Laparoscope Award” from the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and most recently, “First Place” in the renowned ACOG Film Festival, presented at the 57th Annual Clinical Meeting of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in May 2009.
